Movement Rules: Swine Moving Within Wisconsin From a Farm or Home Direct to Slaughter

For dealers this includes the following:
  • Farm direct to slaughter
  • Farm to slaughter-only market sale
  • From the market directly to slaughter
  • From dealer premises direct to slaughter
Dealers moving commercial swine within Wisconsin from a farm or home directly to a slaughtering establishment must ensure the animals have the following requirements:
  • No health papers required.
  • Official ID or slaughter ID [backtags or Premises Identification Number (PIN) tags] are required for cull sows, boars, and stags as described in Wis. Admin. Code § ATCP 12.
    • Some slaughter facilities require PIN tags.
  • No testing required.
  • Records are required as described in Wis. Admin. Code § ATCP 12.
