The following bodies are created by law and attached to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection (DATCP) for administrative purposes.
Standing Advisory Bodies Created by DATCP
Wisconsin statutes authorize the Secretary to create such councils or committees as the operation of the department requires.
Rulemaking Advisory Committees
Under state law, the department may convene committees of experts, interested person or representatives of the public to advise it with respect to any contemplated rulemaking.

Ad Hoc Advisory Bodies Created by DATCP
The department may create temporary ("ad hoc") advisory councils to advise the department on matters within the Department's jurisdiction.
