T​​​​​​​​​​​​he Wisconsin Depa​rtment of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP)​ is responsible for monitoring the accuracy and ​safety of devices used for measurement, storage, and commerce statewide.​​ DATCP's Bureau of Weights and Measures provides resources for training and continuing educatio​n to installers and inspectors who wish to renew their certification.​

​Aboveground storage tank (AST) installers, underground storage tank (UST) installers, and tank system inspectors are required by Wis. Admin. Code ch. ​ATCP 93 to obtain 12 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) within the two-year certification period in order to renew their certification. Certified individuals who do not obtain the required CECs must retake the exam to renew.


Continuing Education Opportunities

UST Boot Camp: ​Purpora Engineering offers UST Boot Camp at their Saukville location. The purpose of this course is to provide a thorough understanding of leak detection, cathodic protection, and testing relating to underground storage tanks. Industry experts and hands-on training provide an intense 3.5 days of learning. Additional information, including how to register and class dates, can be found at PurporaEngineering.com.​


CEC Requirements for Storage Tank Certifications

An approved course may provide continuing education credits for more than one ATCP 93 credential that an individual holds.

Continuing education course availability and locations can be found on the continuing education provider's listing. Please contact the continuing educators directly regarding scheduling and availability of courses.

​Continuing Education Credit Providers

If you would like to become a CEC Provider​ or need to renew a course approval, please complete the continuing education course application and return it to DATCPWMCompliance@wisconsin.gov.

CEC Providers are required to submit course rosters within 10 days of the completion of the course using the required continuing education course roster.
