Firewood Certification and Movement
Firewood is one of the most common ways that insect pests and tree diseases spread to new areas. To help protect against this risk, the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection and other natural resources agencies have moved to certify processes that help assure that firewood is pest-free, and to restrict movement of uncertified firewood.
