Animal Poisoning Suspected

​The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection has a toxic response team.

If you suspect an animal has been poisoned by feed or by pesticide, lead or other hazardous substances, take these steps:

Food Animals

  • Contact your veterinarian immediately
  • Do not send the animal or its meat, milk or eggs to market
  • If your veterinarian determines that poisoning is a possibility, he or she should call:

  • Contact your veterinarian immediately

Wild Animals

  • Contact your local humane society, animal control officer, or Department of Natural Resources Service Center.
