Wisconsin Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program

On May 3, 2023 the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a $420 million Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) Program to fund innovative projects designed to invest in processing and distribution capacity to build resilience across the middle of the supply chain and strengthen local and regional food systems. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) will award $27 million in competitive grant funding. Successful projects will expand capacity and infrastructure for the aggregation, processing, manufacturing, storing, transporting, wholesaling, and distribution of locally and regionally produced food products, including specialty crops, dairy, grains for human consumption, aquaculture, and other value-added food products.

The application period for the Wisconsin RFSI program was open from December 18, 2023 through March 6, 2024 and is now closed. DATCP and USDA are currently in the process of reviewing the grant applications received and will share additional information once available. To receive more information about the Wisconsin RFSI Program, sign up for updates.
