Wisconsin Showcases Diverse Strength at USDA Hong Kong Trade Mission

DATCP staff recently participated in the USDA Agribusiness Trade Mission to Hong Kong, joining over 40 U.S. companies, USDA cooperator groups, and four state departments of agriculture to explore export opportunities and promote Wisconsin agriculture. Hong Kong is a top market for high-value U.S. agricultural products and serves as a critical transshipment point into Southeast Asia and mainland China. Its sophisticated, trend-driven food market is ideal for premium, specialty, and value-added products from Wisconsin.

The trade mission focused on key sectors such as dairy, meat and meat byproducts, soybeans, and ginseng, reaffirming Hong Kong's role as a gateway to Asian markets. Staff from DATCP's International Agribusiness Center (IABC) engaged in targeted business-to-business meetings, government briefings, and business visits to support Wisconsin exporters.

Wisconsin companies Amlat and VPP Group took part in the mission, with Amlat and the Ginseng Board of Wisconsin also exhibiting at HOFEX, one of Asia's largest food and beverage trade shows.

Special thanks to USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) and ATO Hong Kong for their support and partnership.
