USDA Agriculture Trade Mission to Guatemala City, Guatemala

From March 3-6, 2025, DATCP staff joined the USDA Agriculture Trade Mission to Guatemala City, Guatemala. This mission was lead by Acting Associate Administrator of the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, Mark Slupek. The full contingent included cooperator groups, other state departments of agriculture, and agriculture businesses from throughout the United States. DATCP Assistant Deputy Secretary Mike Strigel met with Adjunct Deputy Secretary of Agriculture of Guatemala, Ing. Jamie Bustamante, along with feed and livestock companies and breed associations. The value of Wisconsin products was discussed, as Wisconsin exported over $18 million in agricultural products to Guatemala in 2024, and grew 30% year-over-year. We look forward to building upon our visit and fostering relations for future export growth.
