DATCP has monitored the seasonal flights of Wisconsin's most economically important crop pests for more than 25 years, with the help of many volunteer cooperators throughout the state. Trap counts from the annual trapping surveys provide precise data on the timing of moth arrival into Wisconsin, seasonal abundance, and damage potential. Data collected for each pest are used to forecast optimal scouting and treatment windows based on significant captures. For the 2026 growing season, pheromone, black light and Hartstack traps will be set and monitored by cooperators starting in late March and continuing through September. Survey maps for each of the trap networks are provided below.
