Food Warehouses and Milk Distributors

​​The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection licenses and inspects food warehouses. Food warehouses must comply with food safety standards. These include standards for:

  • Warehouse facilities
  • Personnel sanitation
  • Food storage and handling
  • Inventory records

DATCP may suspend food warehouse licenses, and may issue holding orders to stop sales of adulterated or misbranded food. DATCP may also initiate civil or criminal enforcement actions in court.
