MADISON – Porchlight, located in Madison, Wisconsin, is voluntarily recalling its Porchlight Multi-Grain Pancake Mix, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) announced today. The product includes wheat, a known allergen that is not declared on the label.
Wheat can cause serious reactions in people with an allergy or severe sensitivity. No illnesses have been reported from consuming this product. The product is safe to consume by those who do not have an allergy or intolerance to wheat.
The Multi-Grain Pancake Mix was sold in 16 oz packages. The recall applies to products purchased before August 3, 2016.
All products were sold in grocery stores and restaurants in Dane and Crawford Counties. Consumers who have any of these products may return them to the place of purchase or discard them. Consumers and media with questions about this recall can contact Porchlight, Inc. at (608) 257-2534 ext. 35 or ext. 18. This is a Class II recall which means that the product could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or that the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.
Symptoms of a food allergy may include swelling, itching or irritation of the mouth, nose, throat, eyes and skin; difficulty breathing; cramps, nausea or vomiting; diarrhea; or anaphylaxis. While most people do not have food allergies, anyone who eats a specific food and experiences symptoms should consult a doctor.
