DATCP Participates in WEDC China Trade Mission

In March 2025, staff from DATCP joined a Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC)-led China Trade Mission, alongside Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin and several Wisconsin companies. The mission included strategic stops in Beijing, Shanghai, Harbin—the capital of Wisconsin’s sister state, Heilongjiang Province—and Shenzhen.

IABC coordinated a key meeting with USDA Foreign Agricultural Service–China to discuss market access, trade policy, and broader geopolitical dynamics. The agriculture track focused on highlighting Wisconsin’s agricultural strengths, exploring export opportunities, and strengthening relationships with Chinese importers. The delegation also held roundtable discussions and met with importers of soybeans, meat, lumber, and cheese, as well as major retailers and food industry leaders.
