Staff from DATCP's International Agribusiness Center joined Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin in hosting Wisconsin specialty cheese importer trainings in Singapore and Thailand at end of January and early February 2026. In each country, U.S. Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service staff also joined the activities, helping strengthen engagement with local importers.
The trainings brought together importers, distributors, chefs, and retail professionals to deepen their understanding of Wisconsin cheese. Through tastings, pairings, and interactive applications using local ingredients, more than 100 participants explored how Wisconsin cheese can fit naturally into Southeast Asian menus and retail programs.
Southeast Asia is a priority growth market for Wisconsin dairy, with a growing demand for quality, versatile cheeses across foodservice and retail channels. These trainings help strengthen market readiness, build long-term relationships, and reinforce Wisconsin’s reputation as a quality, versatile, and innovative in the growing Southeast Asian marketplace
