U. S. Grains Council
The U.S. Grains Council is a private, nonprofit corporation with 10 international offices and programs in more than 50 countries and develops export markets for U.S. barley, corn, grain sorghum and related products. The Council believes exports are vital to global economic development and to U.S. agriculture's profitability. Its membership includes producer organizations and agribusinesses with a common interest in developing export markets.
The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) is a nonprofit trade association working to create new opportunities and develop existing international markets for U.S. beef, pork, lamb and veal. Headquartered in Denver, USMEF has offices in Seoul, Tokyo, Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Mexico City, Monterrey and Brussels. USMEF also has special market representatives covering China, the Middle East, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
Food Export Association of the Midwest USA, is a private, nonprofit association that offers services to help U.S. companies promote their Midwestern food and agricultural products in foreign markets. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is a member of the Food Export Association.
U.S. Livestock Genetics Export, Inc., is a nationwide livestock-specific, nonprofit, trade association representing the international market development interests of the U.S. dairy, beef, sheep, swine and horse breeding industries. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is a member of USLGE.
The U.S. Dairy Export Council is a nonprofit, independent membership organization that represents the interests of U.S. milk producers, dairy cooperatives, proprietary processors, export traders and industry suppliers. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is a member of USDEC.
The Foreign Agricultural Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture works to improve foreign market access for U.S. products. FAS bears the primary responsibility for USDA’s overseas activities — market development, international trade agreements and negotiations, and the collection and analysis of statistics and market information.
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture provides export regulatory information to companies exporting plant and animal products. APHIS also protects and promotes U.S. agricultural health, regulates genetically engineered organisms, administers the Animal Welfare Act and carries out wildlife damage management activities.
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) provides export regulatory information to companies exporting meat, poultry and egg products. FSIS is the public health agency in the U.S. Department of Agriculture responsible for ensuring that the nation's commercial supply of meat, poultry, and egg products is safe, wholesome, and correctly labeled and packaged.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation’s food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation.
