From May 5-10, DATCP Secretary Randy Romanski led an agricultural trade mission to Santiago and Osorno, Chile. Accompanying him were staff from DATCP's International Agribusiness Center as well as a delegation of 17 participants from six Wisconsin companies and organizations, including Bioionix, Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, GENEX, La Crosse Distilling Co., Moundview Dairy, and Masters Gallery Foods.

The weeklong trade mission consisted of a market briefing with staff from the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service; an overview of the Chile business market with BusinessHub Consultants, scheduled meetings with local buyers and distributors, partners, and government officials; farm visits; and a reception at the residence of the US Ambassador. Throughout, the mission provided the opportunity for participants to better understand the Chilean market and to develop long-term business relationships and strategies in the country.
