Wisconsin Wood Companies Showcased at Interzum Cologne

Interzum Cologne is the world's leading trade show for suppliers to the furniture production and interiors industries. As such, it is a must-attend show for
American wood suppliers interested in doing businesses in Europe, offering niche opportunities for U.S. suppliers that they can't get elsewhere.

In 2023, Interzum Cologne took place from May 9 through May 12, attracting 62,000 visitors from 150 countries. Approximately 1,600 exhibitors from 59 countries also attended, with foreign exhibitors accounting for 84% of the total. Both the American Hardwood Export Council and the Softwood Export Council had a pavilion at the show with a record number of U.S. exhibitors attending in hopes of exploring European markets in the wake of reduced exporting to China.

Four Wisconsin wood products companies attended the show, along with Jennifer Lu, economic development consultant with DATCP's International Agribusiness Center: Kretz Lumber, Krueger Lumber Co., Lakeshore Forest Products, and Menominee Tribal Enterprises.
