How to Report Diseases
Anyone (veterinarians, producers, animal owners, etc.) who suspects a reportable animal disease is required to report it to a Federal or State Animal Health Official. Please follow the instructions on this webpage.
USDA Low-Interest Emergency Loans
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) announced emergency loans for producers impacted by the quarantines that were imposed in Jefferson, Marquette, and Racine Counties in late 2025. Those specific quarantines have since been lifted. Producers can access additional information from USDA.
Movement to Shows and Exhibitions
In an effort to prevent the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), DATCP is temporarily suspending all poultry shows, exhibitions, swap meets, and movement of poultry to other events in several counties including: Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Kenosha, Lafayette, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Richland, Rock, Sauk, Vernon, Walworth, Washington, and Waukesha.
