The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) Fruit & Vegetable Inspection Unit is headquartered in Stevens Point. This office conducts official USDA inspections in accordance with guidelines established by, and under a cooperative agreement with the
Specialty Crop Program. The Specialty Crop Program is under the Agricultural Marketing Service, an agency housed within the United States Department of Agriculture. Services provided include grading and related services for the following commodities:

Fresh market potatoes

Potatoes for processing

Seed potatoes

Sweet potatoes for processing

Cranberries
The Fruit & Vegetable Inspection Unit is also authorized to conduct
USDA Good Agricultural Practices audits (including for standard
GAP,
Harmonized, and Harmonized Plus+) and
Plant Systems Audits (Good Manufacturing Practices and
Food Defense). To request an audit, please submit
Form SC-237a to the Fruit and Vegetable Inspection Program Manager.
