Spills happen, and when they do it is important to have a plan in place to know how to respond. The “Spills Law” (Sec 292.11 Wis. Stats.) requires immediate reporting of spilled hazardous substances. It also requires that the spilled product to be cleaned up. The department has staff and analytical capabilities that can assist in that clean up process.
