About Us
The Veterinary Examining Board (VEB) defines professional standards and regulatory policies for veterinarians and veterinary technicians. The board determines the education and experience required for obtaining a credential, develops and evaluates credentialing examinations, and establishes and enforces standards of professional conduct.
Members of the VEB are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Legislature to serve four-year terms. The board consists of five licensed veterinarians, one veterinarian technician, and two public members.
The board meets at least four times a year and there are duties associated with committee appointments between board meetings. All meetings have a virtual option.
Interested in serving on the board? To apply, you must submit a copy of your CV, a short description of your training and experience as it related to the VEB, and at least one letter of recommendation is encouraged. To submit your application materials to the governor for consideration,
go through the online portal and scroll down to "Boards and Commissions" and select "application."
