Importing Swine into Wisconsin
These are the requirements for all domestic swine, including pet pigs, rescue pigs, sanctuary pigs, and pigs participating in rodeos, fairs, exhibitions, shows, and other events. Rescues and sanctuaries that obtain pigs for the purpose of adopting them out are required to be licensed as an animal dealer. Any wild or feral type of swine is not allowed to be imported into Wisconsin. Call (608) 224-4874 for more information.
Swine moving into or out of Wisconsin for veterinary care and returning to a place of origin and with no change of ownership will be allowed to enter Wisconsin without restriction. No certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI), testing, or permit is required.
