Apply now for Clean Sweep grants for the collection and disposal of agricultural pesticides, farm chemicals, household hazardous waste, or unwanted prescription drugs.
Completed grant applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025.
Clean Sweep is given $1 million to divide amongst the Household Hazardous Waste program, Agriculture, and Unwanted Prescription Drug collection. The Household Hazardous Waste program is allocated $775,000, Agriculture is allocated $175,000, and the Unwanted Prescription Drug collection is allocated $50,000.
Online Grant Application
Past SharePoint Users
As of 2025, there is a new process of logging in and submitting an online grant application. If you have already signed up for the MyWisconsin ID, you can submit an applicant through DATCP's online SharePoint site. On the drop-down menu, select “Okta" followed by your log-in information.
First Time SharePoint Users
First time SharePoint users will need to create a MyWisconsin ID account to access DATCP's SharePoint materials. The following link will guide you through the registration process: https://det.wi.gov/Pages/MyWisconsin_ID_Self_Registration.aspx.
To create a MyWisconsin ID account, go to https://apps.wisconsin.gov and click the Sign-Up link.
Registration Notes
- Registration is time sensitive. Once you supply the base information, an email will be sent to you to create your password. You have two hours to complete the account setup or the new account will be disabled and irretrievable.
- You will set-up multi-factor authentication by default.
- Once you have successfully created your account, please send a notification email to DATCPCSWP@wisconsin.gov. You will then receive an email containing the link to the application website.

If you plan to submit an agricultural waste/household hazardous waste grant and an unwanted prescription drug grant, you only need one MyWisconsin ID account.

Background
Program Information
The Wisconsin Clean Sweep is a grant program available to governmental entities and Tribes throughout Wisconsin that provides reimbursement to these entities for the collection and disposal of household hazardous waste, agriculture pesticides, and prescription drugs. Businesses that generate very small quantities of hazardous waste may also have the opportunity to use these collections. Collections may be one-day events or may be year-round sites-this all varies from entity to entity.
The Clean Sweep program started out as the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection's (DATCP) way to collect and dispose of Agriculture hazardous waste. In 2003, state legislature merged the DNR's existing Household Hazardous waste program with DATCP's agriculture hazardous waste program under the jurisdiction of DATCP. The Clean Sweep's reach was extended to unwanted prescription drugs in 2007.
As of today, the Clean Sweep has collected over 4 million pounds of agriculture waste, over 39 million pounds of household hazardous waste, and over 500,000 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs.
Final Report Documents
Final reports are still due within 60 days of your Clean Sweep project completion and reimbursements will be processed within 60 days of receipt of your complete final report.
