Wis. Admin. Code § ATCP 21.13 Honeybees; import controls. No person may bring bees or beekeeping equipment into the state without first reporting the shipment to the Department. (See the Moving Bees into Wisconsin webpage for more information).
While state-level honey bee hive registration or licensing is not required in Wisconsin, check your county and local municipality for any additional beekeeping ordinances.
If you are a migratory beekeeper, you should familiarize yourself with the regulations for any state you intend to ship bees into.
