DATCP Issues Public Health Alert for Maloney’s Baloney Wild Rice & Cheddar Cheese Bratwursts and Wild Rice & Cranberry Bratwursts Due to Misbranding and Undeclared Allergen

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is issuing a public health alert for Wild Rice & Cheddar Cheese Bratwursts and Wild Rice & Cranberry Bratwursts produced by Maloney's Baloney in Durand. This alert is due to the product being misbranded and containing an undeclared allergen.

The aforementioned products contain wheat, a known food allergen, which was not declared on the products' labels. The products were sold at the Maloney's Baloney retail store on or before September 17, 2024.

DATCP is issuing this public health alert to ensure consumers with an allergy to wheat are aware that this product should not be consumed. No illnesses have been reported as a result of consuming this product. Anyone with signs or symptoms of a foodborne illness or allergic reactions should contact their doctor.
