Kenyan Food Event

Dates: September 3-5, 2024
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

The Kenyan Food Event, also known as KFE, is East Africa's largest food, drink, and hospitality trade exhibition!

Why Kenya? Processed foods, meat, dairy, distilled spirits, craft beers, health and organic foods, snacks, and dry rubs are all gaining in popularity as urbanization increases.

East Africa is an untapped market of opportunity for food and beverage companies. That is because:

  • There are roughly 1,200 food and beverage manufacturers in Kenya alone, ranging from smaller organizations to multinationals.
  • Growing incomes and rising urbanization have caused a sustained increase in food and beverage sales in Kenya over the last 15 years,
  • Figures suggest Nairobi has the highest consumer food and beverage spending power, with more being spent on high-cost foods.
  • The food and beverage sub-sector in hospitality is valued at $302 million USD, with a 5% growth rate per year.

DATCP offers a turnkey, furnished, and shared booth package for interested Wisconsin businesses. Participants are responsible for airfare, hotel, and meals.

As China's leading showcase for imported food and drinks, Food and Hospitality China (FHC) offers exhibitors the opportunity to meet buyers from wholesale and retail outlets as well as manufacturers, importers, distributors, and representatives from the hospitality and catering trades in China and across Asia. FHC’s main exhibits include high-end dairy products, tea and coffee, bakery, snacks, confectionary, chocolate, meat and seafood, catering design and decoration products, and supply chain products. It is a USDA-endorsed trade show and an ideal platform for entering or expanding into the Chinese market.

Hong Kong is a dynamic gateway to Asia's lucrative markets that offers unparalleled access to affluent consumers who crave high-quality, safe, and sustainably produced food—perfect for Wisconsin’s agricultural products. With its streamlined trade policies and top-tier logistics, Hong Kong not only enhances brand visibility but also facilitates smooth business operations, fostering strong trade relationships and providing growth opportunities for Wisconsin food exporters.

Producers of food and food ingredients, dairy, cheese, dairy ingredients, snacks, ginseng, bakery ingredients, meat, confectionery, and food supply chain products are encouraged to participate. There is no participation fee to exhibit in the shared Wisconsin booth inside the USA Pavilion at FHC or to participate in the trade mission to Hong Kong. Costs covered by the Wisconsin Initiative for Agricultural Exports (WIAE) include shared and furnished booth space, meeting venues, translation services, and group ground transportation. Participants are responsible for individual travel, meals, lodging, and sample shipment.
