March 2024 International Food & Drink Event​​ 
Three Wisconsin companies exhibited in the Wisconsin Pavilion at the International Food & Drink Event (IFE) in London, England.​

March 2024 - Focused Trade Mission to Guatemala
Six companies from Wisconsin, along with seven other companies from around the Midwest, participated in a focused trade mission to Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Six companies from Wisconsin, along with seven other companies from around the Midwest, participated in a focused trade mission to San Jose, Costa Rica.​

February 2024 - Gulfood 2024
International Agribusiness Center staff and representatives from three Wisconsin companies – Grande Cheese, Chippewa Valley Bean, and Masters Gallery​ - traveled to Dubai for the 2024 Gulfood food tradeshow.​

February 2024 - United States Livestock Genetics Export Annual Meeting​​​
International Agribusiness Center staff represented Wisconsin at the United States Livestock Genetics Export (USLGE) annual meeting in Monterrey, Mexico​​.​​

January/February 2024 - Mexico Trade Mission
International Agribusiness Center staff, along with five Wisconsin companies, embarked on a business trade mission to Mexico City, Mexico, and Monterrey.​

January/February 2024 - Thailand Cheese Trade Mission​
International Agribusiness Center staff, along with five Wisconsin  companies, embarked on a cheese promotion trade mission to Bangkok, Thailand.

2023

September 2023 - Fine Food Australia
International Agribusiness Center staff, along with five Wisconsin  companies, attended the Fine Food Australia show, which is dedicated to foodservice, hospitality, retail, bakery, and all things related to food.

August 2023 - Wisconsin Chef and Food Influencer Tour
International Agribusiness Center staff and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Foreign Agriculture Service (USDA FAS) hosted more than a dozen international chefs and media influencers from nine countries and showcased Wisconsin's food and crops on a trip across the state. Stops included Madison, Milwaukee, Kohler, Sheboygan, Green Bay, Mauston, Viroqua, and La Crosse.

July 2023 - Midwest Buyers Mission
​Staff from the International Agribusiness Center and ten Wisconsin food companies participated in meetings with 17 buyers from Canada, Asia, Europe, South America, Middle East, and Central America.

July 2023 - Thailand Product and Product Registration Webinar​
Kelly Stange and Sukanya Sirikeratikul, both of the USDA Foreign Agriculture Service, shared information on market opportunities for cheese in Thailand.​

​DATCP Secretary Randy Romanski, staff from the Department’s International Agribusiness Center, and representatives from five Wisconsin companies visited the United Kingdom for a weeklong trade mission.

June 2023 - U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Trade Mission to Japan​
​More than 10 state departments of agriculture, including Wisconsin's, were represented during this trade mission to Toyko and Osaka.

​June 2023 - International Fair of Galicia Celebrates “Semana Verde” ​​
​International Agribusiness Center staff, along with five Wisconsin companies, attended the International Fair of Galicia​ and Semana Verde, one of the largest agriculture shows in Europe​.​

May 2023 - Inbound Wood Buyers Visit 10 Wisconsin Sites
Staff from DATCP's International Agribusiness Center hosted a group of eight wood buyers from India, Mexico, Taiwan, and Thailand, who visited 10 sawmills around Wisconsin. 

May 2023 - Japanese Inbound Buyers Mission ​
Foodservice and hospitality buyers from Japan visited Wisconsin for a four-day buyers mission to learn more about Wisconsin's beef industry.

May 2023 - Wisconsin Wood Companies Showcased at Interzum Cologne​
Four Wisconsin wood and forestry products companies, along with staff from DATCP's International Agribusiness Center, attended the world's leading trade show for suppliers to the furniture production and interiors industries.​​

May 2023 - Tuttofood Milano
Two Wisconsin companies had a presence at this year’s Tuttofood trade show, held in Milan, Italy.

​​May 2023 - Applied Genomics Conference & Cow Management at SIAM 2023​
At the SIAM conference in Morocco, Moroccan farmers learned that genomics and good cow management are important tools for improving milk production.​

May 2023 - Wisconsin Products Highlighted at Thaifex 2023​​
International Agribusiness Center staff accompanied Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin to the Thaifex food show in Bangkok, Thailand, where they promoted Wisconsin cheese.

Staff from DATCP’s International Agribusiness Center (IABC), as well as representatives from seven Wisconsin food companies and organizations, attended the Food and Hotel Asia Singapore show in April 2023.​

Six Wisconsin cheese companies were represented at Gulfood 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Two Wisconsin cheese companies, BelGioioso and Sartori, exhibited with DATCP at the biennial SIAL Paris trade show.​

June 2022 - ​Pakistani Delegation Connects with Wisconsin Businesses​​
On June 13th, 2022, seven Wisconsin wood companies met with nine pre-qualified softwood and hardwood buyers from Pakistan in Green Bay to build contacts and relationships for future b​usiness. 

June 2022 - ​Japanese Chees​​e Buyer Visits Wisconsin, Adds Wisconsin Cheeses and Suppliers to Product Offerings
​Mr. Kazutoshi Ueno, founder of eAnimal Company in Japan, traveled to Wisconsin to build contacts and relationships with three Wisconsin cheese companies.

December 2021 - Successful Conference on Dairy Genetics in M​exico Sponsored by DATCP
In conjunction with USLGE, DATCP sponsored a conference titled “Applied Genomics in Dairy Cattle" at FONA Holstein 2021 (National Holstein Forum) and National Holstein Show in Queretaro Mexico. 

December 2021 - DATCP's Organized Beef Breeding Webinar Attracts more than 2,800 Attendees
With funding support from the US Livestock Genetic Export Inc. (USLGE), DATCP organized an online beef cow breeding webinar with Hoard's Dairyman China. 

​​​December 2021 DATCP Led Virtual Trade Mission Yields Success for Wisconsin Company
​An early success from the Japan Virtual Trade Mission in the fall of 2021, three shipments of Wisconsin cheese products to Japan have resulted from the relationships developed on the Japan Virtual trade mission that was funded by Small Business Administration STEP grant funds provided via the Wisconsin Ec​onomic Development Corporation.

July 2021 - DATCP keeps Wisconsin Agriculture Connected to World during COVID-19
Despite challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP)’s International Agribusiness Cent​er (IABC) continued to lead international export efforts for Wisconsin agricultural products through a variety of services. ​

2018

August 2018 - Trade Mission Results in Positive Returns for Wisconsin Company
As a result of displaying products ​​and networking with prospective buyers at a major dairy industry conference in Mexico, a Wisconsin-based company has made inroads in a new foreign market.

February 2018 - DATCP Leads Successful Trade Mission to the Middle East
DATCP’s International Agribusiness Center led six Wisconsin livestock and livestock genetics businesses on a trade mission to the Middle East. The outcome of the mission was extremely positive, with participating compan​ies reporting aggregate export sales of more than $5.3 million within three months of the trip, including 3,100 U.S. dairy pregnant heifers to a dairy ​operator in Qatar.

2017

May 2017 - WI Delegation, Cheese Carver Attend China Dairy Expo
Nearly a dozen Wisconsin agriculture-related businesses traveled to China to exhibit their products and services at the 2017 China International Dairy Exp​o and Summit in Harbin, located in Heilongjiang Province, a major dairy area which has had a Sister State relationship with Wisconsin since 1982. To mark the 35th anniversary of Sister State ties, Wisconsin resident and noted cheese craver Troy Landwehr was a featured artist during the expo. The Wisconsin delegation, whose trip was organized by DATCP’s International Agribusiness Center, met face-to-face with many potential distributors and business partners. This year marked the seventh year DATCP has led a Wisconsin delegation to the expo.

April 2017 - Food Export-Midwest and DATCP Host "Foundations of Food Exporting" Seminar

Food Export-Midwest and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection hosted a “Foundations of Food Exporting Seminar,” a full day of food export e​ducation designed to help novice as well experienced food exporting professionals become more experienced exporters.

2016

October 2016 - Value-Added Feed and Feed Ingredient Buyers Mission a Success
DATCP’s International Trade Team teamed with Food Export to host the Value-Added Feed and Feed Ingredient Buyers Mission in Madison, Wis., Oct. 4-6, 2016. The trade team coordinated meetings between Wisconsin feed exporters and prequalified buyers from China, South Korea, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Peru, and Thailand. The trade team has coordinated the annual mission for more than a decade – each year selecting buyers with the greatest potential to become purchasers of Wisconsin products. Food Export Midwest projected total aggregated sales of nearly $20 million as a result of the mission. 

Governor Scott Walker and DATCP Secretary Ben Brancel led a trade mission to the Mexico (June 13-18, 2016) to strengthen connections with Mexican government and agricultural leaders, increase awareness of Wisconsin industry and commerce, and continue to build and reinforce Wisconsin's sister state relationship with Jalisco, one of Mexico's leading dairy regions. The trade mission included nearly a dozen Wisconsin companies who participated in the CIGAL Dairy Show, where they learned more about market potential in Mexico, connected directly with producers and importers, and networked for long-term business partnerships.​​

2015

May 2015 -  Wisconsin Manufacturer Sees Growth Through Exp​orts

Connoils is a global manufacturer, supplier and distributor of high quality natural, organic and nutritional internally stabilized bulk oils, oil powders, softgels and specialty ingredients. This minority-owned company based in Waukesha, Wis., is on the right path to seeing growth through exports. Connoils exhibited at VitaFoods Europe held in Geneva, Switzerland in May 2015. The show is an annual event and covers four key sectors: Ingredients and Raw Materials, Contract Manufacturing and Private Label, Services and Equipment, and Finished Products. As the leading global nutraceutical event, VitaFoods Europe offered Connoils an excellent opportunity to showcase their products and to develop new business opportunities within Europe and beyond. With five new customers in Europe, Connoils hopes to utilize Food Export’s services next year as well as they continue to look at new markets for growth.

April 2015 - DATCP Leads Trade Mission to China Dairy Expo

The Wisconsin International Agribusiness Center in April 2015 lead a group of more than 30 exhibitors, farmers and agribusiness owners to Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. The group participated in the China World Dairy Expo and the US/China Dairy Forum. Participating businesses made contacts with potential buyers in the Chinese market.  ​

2014

In May 2014, Marathon Ginseng used Branded Program funds, supplied by Food Export-Midwest, to cover travel expenses for a trip to China meet the company's goal of expanding sales of ginseng directly to China. “Wisconsin ginseng is valued in China for its unique qualities. There are very few direct distributors, so we hope we can expand into the market,” Dr. Ming Tao Jiang said. 

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls has been engaged internationally for decades, but in recent years, there is a new level of excitement and gro​wth. DAT​CP and UW-River Falls have partnered together on numerous international efforts, including participating at World Dairy Expo and t​raveling to China, Mexico, Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. ​​​​​
