From April 22-26, staff from DATCP's International Agribusiness Center (IABC) led a dairy trade mission to Kazakhstan! This was the first state-led trade mission to Kazakhstan, the largest landlocked country in the world with a growing livestock and dairy industry, serving as a gateway to central Asia.
IABC staff, as well as representatives from six companies and organizations, explored the potential for the introduction of dairy products and genetics from Wisconsin to Kazakhstan. Participating companies included GenOvations, Ever-Green-View Farms, Sawagro, VES-ARTEX, GenEx, and the American Soybean Association.
While on the trade mission, participants visited dairy and beef farms, held meetings with dairy and beef breeders, presented at the Kazakhstan AI center, and explored other collaborations with the Kazakhstan livestock industry, as well as the potential to bring genetics, feed, farm equipment, cheese, and other exports to the country.
