MADISON – The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is here, and SavorWisconsin.com is an easy tool to find the green this season; green decorations that is. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) encourages consumers to use SavorWisconsin.com to locate your real Wisconsin Christmas tree and other holiday items this year.
SavorWisconsin.com is an easy-to-use online directory that allows you to search by business, product name, city or zip code. When you search the site for “Christmas tree,” you’ll currently find over 100 listings across the state from Delavan to Turtle Lake and Sparta to Oconto.
Business listings provide needed information to plan your visit including location, hours of operation, driving directions and types of products offered. Besides the Christmas tree, other products will brighten up your home such as real Wisconsin wreaths and boughs.
Some Christmas tree businesses sell right on the farm or allow you to cut-your-own. A visit to a tree farm can be a great family outing that might include a wagon ride, hot chocolate and more.
Buying Wisconsin-grown greens this holiday supports local businesses, communities and the economy. The state is home to over 400 licensed Christmas tree growers.
Visit SavorWisconsin.com this December to search for a green grower near you.
