Master Meat Crafter Graduation Ceremony
On January 20, 2012, 17 state meat processors graduated from the Master Meat Crafter Training Program. This unique, one-of-a-kind program was developed in conjunction with the Specialty Meat Development Center of Wisconsin. Trade Visit to Vietnam
DATCP Secretary Ben Brancel and Jennifer Lu, a DATCP Economic Development Consultant, will make the State of Wisconsin’s first trade visit to Vietnam January 7 – 14, 2012. While in Vietnam, Brancel and Lu will visit Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh, and Hanoi to identify opportunities and challenges for Wisconsin businesses hoping to export in the Vietnamese marketplace. Official White House Christmas Tree
DATCP Secretary Ben Brancel and Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch attended the harvesting of the official White House Christmas Tree on November 17, 2011 at Schroeder’s Forevergreens in Neshkoro of Marquette County. Katie Wirkus, 64th Alice in Dairyland, will travel the state this season to highlight 44 of the more than 400 registered Something Special from Wisconsin™ companies. During her travels she’ll be sharing a variety of gift ideas and items that are wonderful additions to everyday use.

Taiwan Agricultural Goodwill Mission
The purpose of this mission was to sign purchasing intent contracts with Midwest states for soybeans, corn, and wheat in 2012 and 2013. On September 29, 2011, the mission made its first ever stop in Wisconsin.
