The SavorWisconsin.com website is designed with the latest in web technology to connect consumers to businesses, using top web search capabilities. The goal of the program is enable consumers across the state, nation and world to find their favorite Wisconsin products easily, from the convenience of their computer. It also serves as a cost-effective marketing tool for producers across the state to promote their products for free.
Today SavorWisconsin.com is home to over 1,800 producer profiles, hundreds of local food retailers and restaurants, the largest listing of farmers' markets and features the breadth of agriculture products that Wisconsin producers and companies offer. Agriculture encompasses everything from the food we eat to the clothes we wear, as well as the trees and plants in our communities, and some of the fuels we put in our vehicles. Visit SavorWisconsin.com to finding the products you savor from our great state.
The SavorWisconsin.com project was started in late 2002. The project has been guided by three entities -- the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), University of Wisconsin-Extension, and the Wisconsin Apple Growers Association (WAGA). While the WAGA owns the site, DATCP provides staff time to administer the site and the University of Wisconsin-Extension provides ongoing input and promotion.
