A Consumer's Guide to Organic Food

Marketing materials for organic farmers and businesses

This is a collaborative project between DATCP, agency partners, non-profits, retailers, and farmers to develop promotional and educational materials to support growth of organic food production and sales in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin consumers spend some $43 million on local and directly marketed foods, and increasing demand for locally grown organic foods presents an opportunity for Wisconsin organic farmers. These marketing materials will help organic producers differentiate their product in the marketplace and allow interested consumers to find local organic produce more readily.

These materials were developed through a collaborative project by the Wisconsin Organic Advisory Council, WI DATCP, the Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service (MOSES), the Madison Area Community Supported Agriculture Coalition, and University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension with financial support from the U.S.D.A. Specialty Crops Block Grant Program.
