The 21st Annual GrassWorks Grazing Conference

January 17-19, 2013
The Patriot Center Wausau, Wisconsin

The Conference Planning Committee has begun the process of selecting topics and speakers that will assist beginning graziers in the best way to set up their operation to the advanced producer who may be ready to do on-farm demonstration plots or learn about the latest research. A variety of local & nationally known speakers will be invited to do presentations on soils, farm financials, marketing, new grazing/ fencing practices and the use of cutting edge technology to help producers farm more efficiently.

GrassWorks appreciates the continued commitment to this conference that our planning committee and membership puts in, but this conference would not be as successful without support from the Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative (GLCI) and the Department of Ag, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP). The conference has been awarded a 2-year GLCI competitive grant that will help bring in quality speakers to present topics that are timely and important to our membership.

The event features 20+ workshops, an ever expanding grazing-related tradeshow Thursday-Saturday, silent and live auction, social time, delicious locally raised grass-fed foods, and numerous networking and community building opportunities.

GrassWorks is currently seeking sponsors, exhibitors, food donors, volunteers, and auction items. Scholarships are available on a limited basis for farmers in economic need. Check back for updates or contact Conference Planner, Lanice Szomi: 715-965-8324 or email her at grazingrocks@gmail.com.
