Siting Statute
In 2003, the Wisconsin Legislature passed a law to provide a system for more uniform regulation of livestock facilities statewide.

Livestock Siting Rule and Standards
The siting rule implements the law and contains the siting standards.

Appendix A – Application and Worksheets (PDF)
At the heart of the rule is an application for local approval and five worksheets designed to determine if a proposed new facility or expansion meets standards for odor and water quality.

This appendix contains the NRCS technical standard referenced in ATCP 51.

Appendix C – Notice to Adjacent Property Owners (PDF)
This appendix contains language of the notice that a local government is required to post upon submission of an application for the siting of a new or expanded livestock operation.
