Program Reports

For the first year following the promulgation of the livestock siting standards in the Administrative Code, DATCP developed monthly reports to track siting applications and decisions. DATCP wrote annual reports on implementation of the state siting standards for the first four years of the program.

Livestock Facility Siting Implementation Report, May 2010 – June 2011

The Fifth Annual Report summarizes local and state implementation during the past year.

Livestock Facility Siting Four Year Evaluation Report, May 2006 – April 2010

The Fourth Annual Report summarizes implementation of the rule over the past four year. The report is intended to meet the legal requirements for review and to identify key implementation issues warranting further evaluation. The report includes a summary of the public comments submitted to the department during Feb. and March 2010. DATCP hosted four listening sessions in Dodgeville, Eau Claire, Oshkosh and Wausau to gather comments on what farmers, rural landowners, government officials and others think about the state's rule related to the expansion or establishment of larger livestock operations. About 400 persons attended and over 860 comments were provided.

Third Annual Livestock Facility Siting Report, May 2008 – April 2009

The third annual report summarizes statewide implementation of the siting law and action items to address state and local concerns.

Livestock Facility Siting Second Annual Report, May 2007 – April 2008

The second annual report on implementation of the livestock facility siting law considers actions by DATCP staff, challenges faced by local governments and producers, plus activities of the LFSRB.

Livestock Facility Siting First Annual Report, May 2006 – April 2007

This report evaluates impacts of the livestock facility siting law, specifically what occurred during the first year that the rule was in place. Local implementation activities, department outreach efforts, and an analysis of the siting standards are reviewed in the report. First Annual Report (21 page PDF)
