Metrology Lab Information

Precision weighing
The Wisconsin Weights and Measures Laboratory provides weights and measures standards calibration services for city and state regulatory officials, state licensed weights and measures service companies, and businesses. The lab maintains the State of Wisconsin standards of mass and volume, and has a Certificate of Measurement Traceability from the NIST Division of Weights and Measures to demonstrate conformance to ISO 17025 (through NIST HB 143).

Standards may be dropped off or sent to this address by common carrier (UPS, Fed Ex., etc.) after an appointment is scheduled. All work needs to be have scheduled appointments.

Receiving hours at the lab are 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All standards sent or delivered for calibration should meet NIST standards for construction, cleanliness and appearance. Please see this link for the Guidelines for Submitting Work fact sheet.
