Unfair Business Practices

Wisconsin Statutes section 100.20 regulates unfair business practices. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) may prohibit unfair practices (including deceptive advertising and sales practices) by rule or order. DATCP has adopted rules on a wide variety of subjects. Violators may be prosecuted, and there is a private remedy for consumers.
