Close-Outs and Other Sales

Wisconsin Statutes section 100.18 prohibits deceptive advertising and sales practices, including deceptive “close out” sales. Under Wisconsin Statutes sections 100.18(3m) and 100.20(1m), a retailer may not claim to be holding a business “close-out” sale unless that claim is true.
