Johne’s Disease: Cattle

In Wisconsin, dairy farms experience the most significant impact as a result of Johne’s infection. Although the incidence of Johne’s disease in beef herds is less than dairy herds, beef cattle are also susceptible, and infected herds suffer significant losses. While the disease is similar from species to species, there are some differences. See the links below for a discussion of Johne’s disease in cattle. For additional information see Johne’s Disease Q & A for Bovine Producers, The Cost of Johne’s Disease to Dairy Producers, www.johnes.org, and www.johnesdisease.org.
